So this is where the lyrics reside. I'll need to explain a little about some of these, as you may find a few (especially from Nothing Whispered) a little teenagerish. The reason for that is because all of the songs from Nothing Whispered were written from the age 15-17, so some can be a little angst ridden!!

I would also say that most of the lyrics featured here are fairly biographical, with a twist of fantasy thrown in. It's sometimes difficult to express a feeling in a song without a little imagination. I would hope that the words are not too exclusive to my life and that with at least a few, you may be able to identify with the songs. Many people who have read or listen to the lyrics here, have identified with more than one. However they mean different things to different people.

I'd like to state here that I know that I am no Poet Laureate, a lot of these don't rhyme, and that the words have remained unchanged since I originally wrote them. This is for many reasons. The main reason being that if I start changing the songs, they would never be finished. You have to draw the line somewhere.

As far as how I write songs: I'm a bit lazy. I do believe that you can get writers block, and so I counter it by not trying to write songs. I tend to just wait for the inspiration. Being unsigned, I have that luxury. However when inspiration calls it can sometimes only come up with a verse and a chorus. that leaves me trying to construct a song round a mere line or two.

Page 94, for example was one line for about two weeks: "He wrote I love you, in pencil, on Page 94", and Another Day Goes By was "The tear in my spacesuit, the crack in my armour" for a fair while.

On the other hand, Grown Man's Tears, was written nursing a beer in the Lochside Bar.

However I wrote them, however long or short a time it took, they are little windows of a life story. Whether you like them or not, they are my memories in boxes, compartmentalised into 3 minute snippets, for all to see.

Take care...
