She was the one
Held her hand softly
He planted a kiss on her cheek
It was fun
A day at the zoo
Wouldn’t beat this at all
And they crept up the lawn
Hiding from Barney the cat
They knocked over a bottle or two
Turning around the bend
Father was waiting
Then there were tears
Mother was making the tea
As the story was told and retold
Never believing they sent the boy home
Morning it came
Red eyed and stubborn
She came down the stairs
And it all was forgiven
Then the phone rang and it started again
When you break through I won’t be there
Could be hiding anywhere
With or without your blessing I’ll do it
Cos I will not listen to one more word you have to say
