<Extricated from the email newsletter of March 2003>

Another month has gone by and it feels like only yesterday that I sat down to type February’s Newsletter… Here goes…

Gigs etc. in March

Marillion Weekend:
The Marillion weekend was a great laugh, many a party attended and a few impromptu appearances. The Skyline Drifters and a few others played for a while on Saturday outside in the beer garden (documented by the Guardian no less, although for some reason they thought The SD’s singer and I were actually from Marillion…). I also sang (most of) Radiaxial on the Sunday, which was great fun.
Recording:
I did some session backing vocals for Mel Wallace who is currently recording an album. This was up in Ardgour, at Watercolour Studios which is fantastic and is in a stunning setting. Didn’t want to leave!!
Music Wise:
Did a couple of Music Wise talks for Impact Arts and got to meet a few people I had met before and some I hadn’t.
Belmont Cinema:
This gig was fun, with Fiona Keenan and entourage. Looking forward to her set at the Lemon Tree when we are playing on the 30th. Also heads up for Ian Simpson, Lynn Sangster and Keith Watson all playing that night.
Magnum Centre Irvine:
This was cool, eventually arrived in Irvine after nightmare journey hampered by train strikes, crushed buses, talkative old ladies etc. Needless to say not in best of moods when I arrived but soon got back to my old self after something to eat. Crowd very appreciative, seemed to enjoy the set as much as I enjoyed playing it, and I will be playing with Midge again in April…

Gossip:
I will be having an operation on the 15th to remove some titanium pins that have gone awry in my face. It’s a simple procedure so they say! - but will be quite sore afterwards so will not be doing any more gigs until the 30th at the Lemon Tree.

Website News:
As you may have noticed the site is currently getting all sorts of changes here there and everywhere - improvements continue.
We are currently looking for reviews of Radiaxial, NWTK or live gigs etc so if you fancy turning your hand to the literary feel free to send in a review!

Gigs Comin’ Up:
8th April Gala Theatre, Durham (Midge Ure Support)
9th April - Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline (Midge Ure Support)
30th April - Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, a songwriter fest…

Take care,

Jo
