<Extricated from the email newsletter of July 2004>
Well folks, it's time for the July newsletter. I am writing this from my mum's
office while watching Phoenix Nights before settling down to watch Derren Brown
not shoot himself on Russian Roulette...
This month has been hectic to say the least! I went down to record Papercuts
and Lime in CaVa in June. I had a great time and got the chance to see my best
friend while I was down there, so a win all round. CaVa is quite the place. I
was in studio 2 but I got to have a look around and there is a phenomenal piano
in studio 1! Maybe one day...
The album launch was great fun but also very stressful! We had trouble with
the printing company and had to do the first batch by hand. They are now sold
out. The next batch will be ready in a couple of weeks; many apologies to those
who are still waiting.
Games for One and Nothing Whispered to Katy are also sold out. I'm doing these
in smaller runs though so it won't be long before they are back on the shelves,
promise! Many thanks must go to: Del Franklin for marvellous DJ duties, Emma
Forman for a great performance, Taff, Gordie, Shona and Stuart for Merch/CD/Cake
duties. Mark T for driving all that way up, Catriona, Fiona, Cloud, Petra and
Andy for keeping me sane...
The next gig I had was Drummonds. This was a much more relaxed affair for
me and I had a fine time forgetting all my songs!
The next plan is to get me over to the states and do the US tour, after a
gig in Drakes on the 21st July, a gig in the Lemon Tree on the 21st of August
and more than likely, a Drummonds pre-tour-jitters gig somewhere in August.
The US tour is shaping up nicely, venues to be posted as and when confirmations
come in. I'm very excited!
Anyway, that's it for now.
Hope you're all fine and dandy!
Jo
