<Extricated from the email newsletter of July 2002>

It's nearing the end of July and I simply haven't had a moment's peace to construct a newsletter, and there has been a lot of news! By now most of you will know that I am supporting Marillion in August with new guitarist Blair. This is a very groovy gig and we are both looking forward to it, albeit a little nervously.

We'll also be playing in the Barrowlands on September the 7th as part of the Frankie Miller Tribute Night. (www.frankie-miller.com).

The single has had to be put on a back burner while we practise for these gigs, release date coming soon. Max Rael from History of Guns has kindly agreed to work on a remix of Vanessa, which will be included on the single. (sounds rather good so far...)

Mark Wilkinson has all but completed the artwork for the single, and it is looking quite fabulous.

Last weekend I had three gigs in two nights which was fun but rather tiring!

The first was at Triple Kirks, me and the trusty Taylor guitar doing a couple of 45 minute sets, which were fun. Soon as I was off stage, I was driven down to the Metro where I was filling in as singer for Blair's band Indigo Source. They were in the Miller Genuine Draft battle of the bands competition, and guess what?? We won!

So a good night was had by all.

The next morning wasn't so good however... hangovers abound!

After a quick practise with Blair we were off to soundcheck at the Lemon Tree and before I knew it, we were on stage, the first performance of Blair and Jo!

It was very strange playing with someone else on stage after all these years, but very enjoyable and a good practise for the Marillion gig!

After the gig, however, I was so tired that I didn't do my usual rounds in the audience and stayed upstairs nursing a sore tum and singing Elvis tunes...

On Saturday 27th we'll be in Drummonds in Aberdeen from 2-4pm playing some tunes with a few other acoustic acts, our last gig before the big one in Sheffield, so anyone that can make it down is more than welcome.

Radiaxial is on it's third pressing and so the drought will soon be over for people who have been chasing me up!!

There will be a "Games for One" (the name of the Triple A side single) T shirt coming soon, so anyone who is interested in pre ordering, just send me an email and we'll get you sorted out.

Well, that's about it for now,

Take care

Jo
