<Extricated from the email newsletter of December 2003>

Hi everyone, I've been looking back at my newsletters and noticed I haven't written for a bit, so now I have a few minutes to myself, I thought I had better catch up. The past year has been really exciting for me. I've played with John Young, Midge Ure, Donnie Munro, Fish, and back to John Young again last month. I've been able to play in lovely venues such as the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness and The Millenium Theatre in Durham. These support slots allowed me to play to much bigger audiences and cut my teeth on larger stages. And I have to admit that I have enjoyed it very much indeed.

This year brought the release of The 8 Year Gap, a collection of acoustic work from the 8 years between Nothing Whispered to Katy and Radiaxial. Reviews thus far have been excellent and I thank all of you for your encouragement and support.

I mentioned that a demo album Join the Dots would be recorded and I apologise for the delay, I've need working full time all through this year and by the time I get home to start recording I'm dozing off! But never fear, it is on it's way and will include all of the new live stuff that isn't currently available.

In the new year I will be doing more sketches for the full album, Games for One. I probably don't have to tell you how excited I am about this, it's been a long time in coming and I really feel that there will be major breakthroughs in how I see the music progressing from the acoustic genre it is in now.
Some of you may have streamed Fighting and Vanessa from the site, these are sketches Blair and I worked on earlier this year and I hope to put up a couple of other tracks I have been working on soon.

Next year will hopefully see me doing my own mini tour of the UK, and I am looking at getting to venues near where you live, so if you think you'd like to see me in your hometown, drop me a note and I'll see what I can do!

Also, Nothing Whispered to Katy will soon be available on CD after much wheedling from people who've played it so much their tapes have gone wonky!

Well, that's my tea break well and truly over, so I had better get back to geology!

Take care all of you and I hope you have a great festive season,

Love,

Jo
