<Extricated from the email newsletter of August 2003>
Dear all, it's been a wee while since I wrote anything vaguely interesting to
you, so here is a newsletter that will hopefully cheer you up. Over the past couple
of months I've been doing some recording and some gigging. Big thank you to Mark
who made a 10 hour trip to see the Glassel Gig. There have been lots of nice comments
about that gig which is always good. I went down to Grant's to do some demoing
for the album and have been working on a brand new track "Over the Course
of an Evening", which is sounding good. I'll post developments as and when.
I am releasing another album. The 8 Year Gap, is a compilation of songs I wrote
and recorded in between NWTK and Radiaxial. (There are even early forms of 2 of
the Radiaxial songs, Easier Said Than Done, and Lady Day). I am hoping to use
the sales money to fund recording for Games for One.
The track listing is as follows:
Born to Lose/Easier Said Than Done/How Long?/Easy Mistake/Throw/Just Let Go/Barney/Winter/Aphrodite
Calls/Lady Day/Melt/Funny How/Patricia Neal/Hollow Boy/Tiger/Faster in the Dark
It will be available from the website soon if you want a copy. Or if you can't
wait, drop me a line.
I will be recording all the new tracks I have written over the past two years
(a couple of escapee oldies on it though unreleased) for release in the next month
or so. This will be a very rough recording as it is merely for choosing which
songs will go on Games for One. However, it will be available for sale for £5.
(All proceeds to the Games for One album fund!!)
The provisional track listing for this is:
If I Say/Opalesque (an old one but a good one)/ Lay With Me/ Clean/ Over the Course
of an Evening/ Prove You Wrong/ Dangerous Ground/ Brick by Brick/ I Love You,
Love/ Chiar Daca, Ma Duareh/ This Good Love (another oldie but never recorded
nicely enough!)
If I've forgotten any, just let me know!
The fundraising for Games for One is well on its way, but if you have any money
raising ideas please let me know!
I've got lots of Aberdeen gigs coming up over the next couple of months, so
I'll hopefully see some of you there. I'll keep you posted on gigs elsewhere.
Meanwhile,
I had better get back to some work!
Take care,
Jo
