Gigs Etc in April
Midge Ure Gigs, Durham (8th) and Dunfermline (9th)
Early April saw me on the road again, this time a short foray into England where I played at the Millenium Theatre in Durham, supporting Midge Ure. The train ride down was lovely, I'd recommend it anytime (well only for people who like being on trains). Durham itself is rather beautiful and I was lucky enough to see it bathed in sunshine. The Millenium Theatre is brilliant and it felt quite exhilarating being on a 'proper' stage. The lighting was such that I couldn't see anyone at all in the audience, which did throw me a little. I must admit to feeling like I was singing to a black wall 3 feet in front of my face!!
Afterwards I met quite a few of the people who enjoyed the set, they were all really friendly and hopefully I'll be down there again.

Dunfermline was a strange one for me as my auntie Frances (who is an opera singer) has lived there for a long time and I was a bit worried I'd let the side down. My mum and auntie Dianne made an appearance wearing the Jo tshirts, along with my faithful Web Mistress Mo, Long Term Scoundrel and purveyor of dreadful Jokes Pete, and Gregor who trekked down with Stu from Aberdeen.
The gig was very enjoyable and I played a couple of new tracks as well.
Special thanks to Chris who sold my merch for me and thanks again to Berenice and the team for making the whole experience a lot of fun.

Lemon Tree (30th)
Not going to do a review of this as it is tonight! I'm playing with Fiona Keenan, Ian Simpson, Keith Watson and Lynn Sangster, not necessarily in that order...

Recording
I haven't done any recording this month but am arranging to make a demo/album sketch in the near future.

Gossip
Operation went well and spent four days on a couch watching dvd's. Spent an evening with The Bays on the 26th. For those not in the know, Andy Gangadeen, The Bays drummer played in the H band tour last year. The Bays improvise all night. I enjoyed it immensely. If you want to see what they're about go to www.thebays.com

I'm writing a new song at the moment it looks to be quite a cheery one for a change!

The Press and Journal have been doing a bit of news on me of late, an interview and a news piece. You might be able to get them online, try www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk but not sure.

Website News
Improvements continue... we now have a shop! There have been some problems with people trying to sign up to the mailing list, so if you are having problems then just email me and I can get you sorted out.
There will be a photoshoot at some point soon as I have recently lobbed off most of my hair.

Gigs Comin' Up
